Screenwriter reveals favorite character in upcoming films

In participation in the Reddit of the frame Ask me anything, Michael Waldronscreenwriter of Loki, Vingadores: Doomsday e Avengers: Secret Wars, was asked which character he most enjoyed writing for the two films.

The screenwriter was direct: “Destination”, citing Doctor Doom, a character who will be played by Robert Downey Jr. upon his return to MCU. So far, we don’t have much information about what this return will be like, however, if there is anyone who knows how, it’s Waldron.

In the same publication, the screenwriter also commented on a moment of Avengers: Kang Dynasty, involving the Young Avengers.

All about Vingadores: Doomsday

Marvel has already confirmed the main cast names for the new film, in one of the biggest meetings of MCU stars ever held. From the previous films of Avengers, return: Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Winston Duke as M’Baku and Letitia Wright.

Of characters introduced post-Avengers: Endgame – in phases 4 and 5 of the MCU – we have Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, the entire new Fantastic Four (Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing) and almost the entire cast of Thunderbolts* (Florence Pugh as Yelena, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, David Harbor as Red Guardian, Hanah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Lewis Pullman as Bob the Sentinel).

In a live cast announcement, there was also the big surprise of the film so far: the return of the classic X-Men from the old Fox films, including Patrick Stewart as Professor Deadpool & WolverineChanning Tatum como Gambit.

The villain of the story, meanwhile, will be Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. Vingadores: Doomsday will be directed by brothers Anthony and Joe Russo (Completed), and screenplay by Michael Waldron (Loki) e Stephen McFreely (Completed).

The debut of Vingadores: Doomsday was set for December 18, 2026 in Brazil, preparing the ground for Avengers: Secret Wars em 2027.
