Singer Iza reveals “paranormal” connection with her dog. Understand
Iza is a true animal lover, and when it comes to her dogs, emotion overflows. At 35 years old, the singer says that she has had a unique connection with dogs since she was very little, something that intensified after an experience that changed her life.
The singer said in an interview with Quem magazine that at the age of two, she suffered a fall from the second floor of her house, but was saved by Taurus, a Brazilian Fila who was there and supported her during the fall, fracturing her paw to protect her. A deep mark was left, not only on his forehead, but also in his heart, creating an eternal bond with the dogs.
Currently, Iza has five adopted dogs and reveals that one of them, Amora, has a “paranormal connection” with her, being able to predict delicate moments in her health. “She feels it before I even notice. If she’s restless, it’s because something is going to happen”, he reveals.
The artist also shares that, during her daughter Nala’s pregnancy, she faced difficult times, but always found comfort in her pets, such as her border collie Arroz, who accompanied her with unconditional love, especially in a period of separation.
Iza signs the soundtrack for the film Caramelo
The love for dogs also inspired IZA to create the song “Doce Feito Caramelo”, the theme of the Netflix film Caramelo, which tells the story of a chef and his relationship with a stray, a symbol of Brazil. “Composing this song was very special. I had to capture the unconditional love of dogs and adoption, something I have always experienced with my pets”, reveals Iza, who says she is privileged to be able to be part of this project. When asked about her identification with the film’s story, Iza is direct: “There’s a lot of me and my dogs. They really have a magical connection with us, they can tell when something isn’t right.”

Nala’s relationship with dogs is also a reflection of her mother’s love for animals. “She loves dogs, especially my mother’s Great Danes. Her first word was ‘she’, pointing to Estela, the family dog”, he says, with a smile on his face.

Iza even jokes about expanding her family: “Human, let’s take a break for now. But another dog? Of course, I’d love to!” And, with so much love around, she concludes: “Adopting a dog is like sweetening your life, it’s ‘Sweet Made Caramel’”.
