‘Superman: Man of Tomorrow’: New details indicate possible villain for the film
‘Superman: Man of Tomorrow’sequel to the epic James Gunn which presents David Corenswet like the iconic Man of Steel, gained promising news.
According to ComicBookMovie, new details have revealed a casting description for the villain: “Makeup and prosthetics will be used for the film’s antagonist. Additionally, actors with strong physique and stature are being considered for the role.”
James Gunn reveals that plans for the DCU go beyond ‘Superman: Man of Tomorrow’
Makeup and prosthetics could bring many of Superman’s foes to life on screen, but one “strong stature and physique” do not necessarily indicate Brainiac, who is often portrayed with a relatively common structure. Therefore, some fans speculate that this description could suit Mongul better.
Mongul, originally created as DC’s answer to Thanos, may make more sense than Brainiac now that Salvation has been established as a major factor in the future of the DCU at the end of Season 2 of ‘Pacifier’.
The Modern Era version of the character was reintroduced as the ruler of Warworld, a space empire that holds gladiatorial games to entertain its citizens.
‘The Man of Tomorrow’ opens in theaters on July 9, 2027. It is worth remembering that ‘Superman’ is now available in the catalog HBO Max.
