The actress who gave life to Marvel’s most powerful mutant clarifies whether she will be in ‘Avengers Doomsday’
Marvel Studios is working on bringing its most ambitious crossover to date to movie theaters in December 2026 with ‘Avengers Doomsday‘, and a year later put an end to the Multiverse Saga with ‘Avengers Secret Wars‘. Two films that aim to be the most expensive in history if we take into account the spectacular cast that they will present to fans, with Marvel characters of all kinds, conditions and universes, recovering characters from the past of other sagas to confront them against the protagonists of the UCM, with the threat of Doctor Doom de Robert Downey Jr. as a great claim. However, many expect that the most powerful mutant character from the first ‘X-Men’ trilogy, Jean Greymake an appearance alongside his former adventure companions who will be, at least, in ‘Doomsday’: his actress, Famke Janssenhas clarified if he will be in the film: “Never. Never”.
Will Famke Janssen return as Jean Grey?
This was clarified in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly on the occasion of his series ‘Amsterdam Empire‘: “It’s interesting, I didn’t realize it was such an important role.. Every interview I do, that appears, and of everything I say, that is what is going to appear in print,” explained Famke Janssen about the interest of so many people about her possible return as the mutant Jean Gray from ‘X-Men’. Let us remember that the Dutch actress played Jean Gray in ‘X-Men’ (2000), ‘X-Men 2’ (2003) y ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’ (2006).
When the 60-year-old actress was asked if Marvel has asked her to return as the famous mutant, Janssen clarified: “Never. Never. I guess I should be flattered that this character connected with people. It’s been so long, but It’s nice that people keep talking about her.. I’m sure that every time a new movie comes out, like ‘Doomsday’?, the topic will come up again,” concludes the actress and former model.
Famke Janssen She is not the only actress who has given life to Jean Gray in the cinema, since Sophie Turner picked up his baton in Fox’s mutant saga as prequels, appearing as such in ‘X-Men: First Class’ (2011), ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ (2014), ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ (2016) y ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix‘ (2019). It has also not been confirmed that Turner will return as Jean Gray in the MCU.
