The best movies in Spanish according to The Hollywood Reporter — Rock&Pop

Two weeks before closing 2025, various media began to elaborate rankings that address different subjects, from music to cinema.

For example, The Hollywood Reporter made a list with the best 30 movies in Spanish. Within them, two Chileans appear. In fact, one of them got the top.

The film that managed to stand out and that took the podium is The Mysterious Look of Flamencodirected by Diego Cespedes.

The Hollywood Reporter assures that: “Céspedes’ debut film constitutes a disarming queer fable. The director films this peculiar family as a refuge and a trench, mixing melodrama, coming-of-age, magical realism and twilight western, with a very unusual freedom and sensitivity for a debutante.”

In tenth place is the acclaimed film 31 Minutes: Warm Christmas by Pedro Peirano and Álvaro Díaz. In this one, the beloved puppets reveal what Christmas is like in Titirilquén.

“A film that transfers the universe of the most absurd news program in Chile to a Christmas without snow and with temperatures out of control. The film expands the political, musical and satirical humor of the series, without passive nostalgia, using the Christmas parody to talk about consumption, climate crisis and clumsy heroismsfaithful to the irreverent spirit of the program that marked several generations,” they mention from the media.
