The first official trailer for The Odyssey was released in recent days, and the numbers obtained from the promotional film confirm that the next film by Christopher Nolan it is certainly one of the most anticipated of next year…
The trailer has been viewed more than 121.4 million times on multiple social platforms in its first 24 hours ‘of life,’ according to data shared with Forbes by entertainment analytics firm WaveMetrix. This huge number more than doubles Oppenheimer’s 50 million viewsthe director’s latest film which set numerous box office records and which led the author to win the Oscar: it grossed almost 1 billion dollars and won seven Academy Awards in 2024, including the awards for director and best film.
In general, The Odyssey was the eighth most viewed trailer this year in the first 24 hoursbehind eagerly awaited films like The Devil Wears Prada 2, which garnered more than 180 million views in its first 24 hours, and Disney’s remakes of Moana and Lilo & Stitch. It was also the most watched trailer this year for Universal Picturesahead of box office hit Wicked: For Good, which got 113 million views in 24 hours, according to WaveMetrix.
About 27% of trailer views came from TikTok, the most used social platform, with YouTube (26%), Facebook (21%), Instagram (18%) and X (10%) accounting for the rest of the views, according to WaveMetrix.
