Tropa de Elite actor mocks Wagner Moura in video: ‘We’re still here’

Baiano was criticized after listing three Brazilian films that everyone should watch

Sandro Rocha, actor who played Major Rocha in ‘Tropa de Elite’ made a video on his Instagram mocking Bahian Wagner Moura, protagonist of “The Secret Agent”. The criticism was made after Wagner indicated three Brazilian films that everyone should watch at a press conference. “Bye Bye Brasil”, “Terra Estrangeira” and “Vidas Secas” were the actor’s choices, however, according to Rocha, he “deleted” titles that should have been on this list. >

For Wagner Moura’s professional colleague, “Cidade de Deus”, “Tropa de Elite” and “Tropa de Elite 2: O Inimigo Agora é Outro” have been forgotten due to “ideology”, making reference to left-wing artists. >

“Let me add: City of God, a classic, anthology film, and Tropa de Elite I and II were missing. Never let these three films be forgotten. I know there are those who want to erase reality because of ideology, but we are still here”, said Sandro Rocha, through a video shared on Instagram.>

With divergent political positions, Wagner Moura is identified with left-wing and progressive agendas, placing himself at the forefront of demonstrations against the Blindagem PEC, for example. Rocha, in turn, has already declared support for former president Jair Bolsonaro and right-wing ideological agendas.>
