Two-Part “Avatar” Documentary Hits Next Month
Disney+ has released a traller for “Fire and Water: Making the Avatar Films,” a new two-part documentary hitting the streamer on November 7th.
The doco offers a deep-dive into the making of 2022’s “Avatar: The Way of Water” along with offering a glimpse at the upcoming “Avatar: Fire and Ash”.
Plenty of behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with cast and filmmakers are on offer including James Cameron, producer Jon Landau, and stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and Kate Winslet.
The news follows comments from Saldaña earlier this week asking Cameron to make a documentary about the making of the Avatar movies, hoping it would “finally give us a chance to explain, in a meticulous way, why performance capture is the most empowering form of acting.” Looks like she got her wish.
The upcoming third “Avatar” film also stars Oona Chaplin as Varang, Cliff Curtis as Tonowari, Jack Champion as Spider and Giovanni Ribisi as Parker Selfridge. It opens in cinemas on December 19th.
