Virginia Raffaele and Aldo Baglio in Bologna to present the film “Life goes like this”

After opening the twentieth edition of the Rome Film Festival, Riccardo Milani’s new film arrives in theaters in the presence of the director and actors Virginia Raffaele and Aldo Baglio. The appointment is Saturday 25 October at 3.30 pm – Pop Up Cinema Jolly 4K in Bologna.

SYNOPSIS – A ‘legal drama’ set in a wonderful corner of southern Sardinia and inspired by a true story. On the one hand there is unbridled capitalism and on the other the story of a community forced to choose between the dream of finally having a stable job and the need to defend its territory and its identity. Representing tradition is precisely Efisio Mulas, a solitary shepherd, ready to defend it, perched as he is in the small house where he was born and lives between the sea and his animals. On the real estate capitalism front there is Giacomo (Diego Abatantuono), president of a powerful Milanese real estate group, determined to transform that coast into a luxury resort. At his side is the construction manager Mariano (the Aldo of the trio with Giovanni and Giacomo), who has the thankless task of convincing Efisio to give up that last strip of land. Among these irreconcilable worlds we find Francesca (Virginia Raffaele), daughter of Efisio, who tries to mediate, and Giovanna (Geppi Cucciari), a magistrate born and raised in those places called to judge.

Notes by director Riccardo Milani

“Ten years ago I learned about this story by reading the newspapers and when I learned that the elderly protagonist had died I thought the time had come to tell it also to give a signal of courage and dignity. Doing it in a comedic way is a way to show everyone that things like this should never happen again. However, this story is by no means closed yet. There is an ordinance for the dismantling of the structures already built, but nothing has been done yet. In the meantime the real estate company went bankrupt, but the story is still very hot, so much so that many locals, while we were shooting, were not at all happy that this film was being made. However, I tried to find a meeting point between two opposing visions.”
