Wagner Moura wins best actor award at the Chicago Film Festival for ‘The Secret Agent’
“Throughout his performance, Wagner acts as a vehicle, allowing us to travel in his place as spectators. His presence is fresh, empathetic, often hypnotic and never exaggerated. He masters the ability to personify a character in all its nuances and throughout the entire narrative arc”, highlighted the event’s jury.
The Chicago Festival had 43 films in competition. The Spanish drama “Sirât”, by Oliver Laxe, left the event with the main prize for best film. The film is cited as a possible rival to “The Secret Agent” in the dispute for the Oscar for best international film.
