“We live in the culture of bullying”
Marty McFly and Doc got into the DeLorean to travel to 1955 40 years ago. Back to the Future premiered in 1985 and was an absolute success, giving rise to two equally beloved sequels. The trilogy launched Michael J. Fox to stardom and neither he nor his partner Christopher Lloyd have lost love for the films.
The franchise reinvented time travel and now, in the middle of 2025, the couple of actors wanted to assess how well the saga has aged. “It continues to surprise me how much the Back to the Future movies influenced young people”Lloyd notes: “They continue to be talked about all the time”.
However, Fox has the answer for the eternal mad scientist. Because, for him, there is a reason that has caused the movies are oblivious to the passing of the years (and no, it is not the flux capacitor).
“We live in the culture of bullying”explains: “We have harassers everywhere, there is no reason to point fingers at anyone, but there are a lot”. A reality that the actor compares to the fiction directed by Robert Zemeckis: “In the movie, Biff is a stalker. Time is a stalker.”
Likewise, Fox has made an analogy between his own life and the saga: “For me personally, Parkinson’s is a stalker”. And the actor has been fighting the disease since 1991; although, despite suffering from it for more than 30 years, continue working in the sector.

“It all depends on how you face them and the determination you have in the fight. It’s about your resilience and your courage”concludes Fox in his interview with Empire. Some words that could well be his philosophy of life since he received the sad diagnosis at only 29 years old.
The reality is that four decades later, The trilogy remains one of the highest-rated franchises. Some films that won love inside and outside the movie theaters, making several generations dream of Levi’s, rock and roll and flying scooters.
