“Bury your dead”
The film — Original Globoplay — is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Ana Paula Maia, “Bury your dead”, by Marco Dutra, follows Edgar Wilson (Selton Mello), a man who works collecting dead animals on the roads of the rural area of the fictional city of Abalurdes, in a world that begins to show signs that it is close to the end. Amid the apocalyptic climate, he still navigates his relationships with his girlfriend Nete (Marjorie Estiano) and his friend Tomás (Danilo Grangheia), an excommunicated priest.

Guilherme del Toro’s film, which hit Brazilian cinemas this October, recreates the tragic story of Victor Frankenstein, the scientist obsessed with the idea of creating life, who pays dearly for defying the laws of nature — and of God, for religious people. Starring Oscar Isaac, in the role of the scientist, and Jacob Elordi, who plays the monster, the film reinforces the character of a family drama of the relationship between creator and creature, which has benefited from the passage of time.

Steven Spielberg’s classic, released in 1975, was re-released in cinemas this year and was shown in 3,200 cinemas. The film takes place in a small coastal town, whose residents panic when they realize that a huge white shark is prowling their waters. The police chief tries to close the beaches, but faces resistance from local authorities, concerned about tourism. With the help of a marine biologist and an experienced fisherman, he sets out on a dangerous hunt for the creature. In the 1970s, the production grossed US$470 million.
