Why didn’t the team authorize the film in Brazil?
After releasing his 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirlsinger Taylor Swift left Brazil out of the release of the film based on the sound work.
O longa “Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl” did not premiere in Brazilian cinemas due to a refusal by the record label’s international team and Taylor Swift herself, according to exclusive information from the Omelete portal.
Cinema chains had already made announcements weeks before the premiere, which did not materialize. See details of what happened.
Why didn’t Taylor Swift’s film premiere in Brazil?
The film was released in North America normally and was shown between the 3rd and 5th of October, that is, the weekend of the album’s release. The prediction was that the same thing would happen in Brazil.
However, the singer’s team refused authorization for the screening of the feature film The Life of a Showgirl, as much of the film’s content, such as the song lyrics, had already been available since the 5th with its release abroad, the website states.
Furthermore, the bureaucracy faced by Brazilian distributors and those from other South American countries, in addition to accessibility issues, would have been the reason for the delay.
Cinema chains had already announced Taylor Swift’s film
About ten days before the release of The Life of a Showgirl, movie chains began promoting the film in celebration of Taylor’s new era. The UCI network published a poster and the company logo on September 22nd.
