Zootopia 2 cast in Japan has Hideo Kojima voicing one of the characters
The film’s director insisted on having Hideo Kojima as Paul Moldebrandt, a mole who works at the Zootopia Police Department.
Hideo Kojima confirmed that he plays one of the characters in “Zootopia 2” in the Japanese dub. In this case, he voices Officer Paul Moldebrandt, a mole in the Zootopia Police Department.
As reported by Mantaweb (via Automaton), Kojima was invited to the role directly by Jared Bush, creative director at Walt Disney Animation Studios and director of Zootopia.
Although Kojima has already made cameo appearances in several games, this is the first time he will be in an animated film.
“I’ve done several cameos in games and live-action films, but this is my first experience voicing a feature-length animated film. And on top of that from Disney! Plus, it’s the sequel to my favorite film, Zootopia! To top it off, I received the offer directly from director Jared Bush, so I was extremely honored and accepted without hesitation,” commented.
Kojima also said that he learned a lot from working as a voice actor on Zootopia 2. “As I am usually on the directing side, the experience of acting taught me a lot”.
Finally, he has spoken many times about his love for the original Zootopia and its social themes, but he took the opportunity to once again call it “the pinnacle of Disney’s film production”.
In Brazil, Zootopia 2 is now available in cinemas. Anyone who wants to check out Kojima’s dubbing in the film, however, will need to watch it in Japan or wait until someone in that country records the scene showing Kojima as Paul Moldebrandt and publishes it online. The other alternative is to wait for the film to come out on streaming and Blu-ray.
