Doomsday’, but Simu Liu just reminded me with a good dose of hype. “It’s a dream come true”
I don’t know about you, but after the progressive wear and tear since the Multiverse Saga began and, especially, after the disappointment that ended up being ‘Fantastic Four: Getting Started’ – or, at least, its second half -, I had completely forgotten that next 2026 an ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will be released that about 7 or 8 years ago would have had me salivating just by looking at its teaser poster.
Pajamas soul
Luckily, Simu Liu has arrived, who is still sitting waiting for someone to give the green light to the sequel to ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ – which, by the way, was not bad at all – to raise expectations a little after he has described the feature film with a sentence as short as it is forceful: “A dream come true”. Furthermore, he added that “There are many actors in it, and being able to work with those people as colleagues is something incredible, because I grew up watching many of them”.
During an interview with ScreenRant about the film ‘In Your Dreams’, in which it was inevitable to end up talking about the new “Avengers”, Liu, who will once again step into the shoes of Shang-Chi after his debut in the MCU in 2021 under the command of Destin Cretton, He continued throwing flowers at the project as follows::
“It feels, in many ways, like a love letter to the entire superhero movie genre. And I think there’s something really fun about that. (It’s a movie) for all the misfits and the weirdos and the losers who grew up reading comics and feeling like there was hope for them somehow, regardless of whether they fit in. I think there will always be a special place in my heart for this whole genre.”
Of course, good old Simu has perfectly understood what all this sleepover comic is about and how it became for many—including myself—a refuge when things were going badly. Just for this we will end up giving a vote of confidence to the Russo brothers and we will go see what they have done with the Avengers December 18, 2026.
